How do you update Plex media server? There is no arbitrary way to update the server version in Plex Media Server, as in a regular Plex Media Server, which you might run on a computer or a NAS device. Once that’s finished, you can restart your Plex Media Server by entering the following command: sudo service plexmediaserver restart And that’s it! Your Plex Media Server should now be up-to-date.

Once you’re logged in, enter the following command to update your Plex Media Server: sudo apt-get update & sudo apt-get upgrade This will update the package lists for your system and then upgrade any outdated packages. If you’re not sure how to do that, check out this guide.

First, open a terminal window and SSH into your Linux machine. If you’re a Linux user and have a Plex Media Server set up, at some point you’re going to want to update it.
